The Nile crocodile is found not just near the Nile River, but many other parts of Africa. It is Africa's largest crocodile and can weigh more than 1,500 pounds. Snakes and most other reptiles do not usually care for their young, but Nile crocodiles have been seen guarding their nests. Over 250,000 of them are currently alive.
