His kingdom known as the Nasrid of Granada (The Emirate of Granada) ruled moors from 1230 until in 1492, when they surrendered to the armies of Ferdinand II of Aragón and Isabella I of Castile. There were a series of wars between the Christian kingdoms and the Moors rulers known as Reconquista, which weakened the Nasrid Kingdom to decline.
