How do you convert fractions into decimals

You divided the numerator by the denominator.
Here is an example...
6/8 you divided 6 by 8 to equal a decimal

Let's say we have the fraction [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

For instance, in the case of the fraction: " 1/2" ; the denominator is ' " 2 " . If the denominator is 2, we must divide 2 by our numerator which is 1 so we will create a divison problem and it will be 1 ÷ 2 = 0.5
