Suppose the Moon were smaller in size but greater in mass than it is now. How would that affect solar eclipses and tides?

The tidal forces would be larger, seismic activity on the Earth would most likely be more pronounced/active, which would change how buildings are constructed, which would change where people live and how they lived. Earth would also no longer have solar eclipses.
