WE solve for x and y using substitution method

LEts plug in -x for y in the first equation

[tex]y = 1.5x - 4[/tex]

[tex]-x = 1.5x - 4[/tex]

Subtract 1.5x on both sides

[tex]-2.5x=- 4[/tex]

Divide both sides by -2.5

x= 1.6

Now plug in 1.6 for x in y=-x

y= - 1.6
