A meter is 100 centimeters, so a centimeter is one hundredth of a meter. A meter stick broke into two parts. One part was 0.37 meter long. How long was the other part?

The other part was 1-.37, or .63.  The other piece is 63% of the whole.
Since there are 100 centimeters, that would be 100*.63, or 63 centimeters.  The other part was 63 cm long.
