The answer to this question is: Populations of developed nations are living longer
Piaget focused on cognitive changes during childhood when studying the developmental psychology. He did not put the fact that many people started to change their behavior upon a certain aspect in their lives later in life (such as middle age people who started to pay attention to their diet so they could live longer)
