How do you solve a proportion?

The proportion is simply a matter stating the ratios as fractions, setting two fractions equal each other  and cross multiplying.

For example: 
 2/x=3/9.
You need to cross multiply in order to get your answer. so 9(2)=x(3)
18=3x
6=x.

Thats how you solve a proportion.
